   ADS Injector I CM2 Assembled and Installed TEXT SIZE: A A A
——

On March 28th, the Accelerator Driven Sub-critical System (ADS) Injector I Cryomodule 2 (CM2) was transported from the assembly hall to the beam test hall at the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP), marking the completion of ADS Injector I CM2 R&D.

The second accelerating section at ADS Injector I, CM2 is composed of seven units. Each unit includes a superconducting cavity system, superconducting magnets and beam measuring units. The CM2 weighs about 13 tons and is more than five meters long. It has an outer barrel diameter of about 1.4 meters.

The next focus will be vacuum leak detection for the second time. Before cooling, fabrication and beam-conditioning, CM2 will be integrated with CM1 and other facilities and control systems.

Following the ADS Injector I CM2, the 25 MeV Injector II, jointly developed with the Institute of Modern Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, is another important mission for the engineers and scientists at IHEP.
